Catching the Rain
In many parts of the world, clean water is becoming harder to find, while at the same time heavy rain often falls and simply runs away down the drains. This waste seems especially strange in cities, where huge amounts of rain hit roofs and roads every year and vanish into the sewers within minutes. A growing number of homes and schools are now trying to solve both problems at once by collecting rainwater from their roofs. The idea itself is very old, and people in many countries have gathered rain in jars and barrels for hundreds of years. Modern systems simply do the same job in a cleaner and more reliable way.
